At SoundPage, each producer sets their own license terms. There's no single standard license across the platform. Two beats from two different producers can have very different rules, so always read the terms on the beat you're buying.

Getting started: Connect a Stripe account

To set up licensing for your beat, you’ll first need to connect a Stripe account as described here: Connecting a Payment Processor (Stripe / PayPal)

Next step: Assigning a license to your beat

Once you’ve connected stripe, you can navigate to Products in the left navigation menu and select an existing product (or create a new one).

You’ll find the “Create default licenses” CTA button at the bottom left of the product config screen. After clicking that, you’ll see these three default tiers appear (Lite, Core, Plus).

Edit any of the plans by clicking the pencil icon. You will have the option to edit the following:

You can toggle over to the License Terms shown above by clicking on the tab. Here you’ll be able to define the agreement, in the document that actually governs your use. These are dispatched automatically with each sale.

We recommend leaving the all of the bracketed text in place (like {{beat_name}} as these variables are programming language used to pull in the name of your product, license fee, date, order ID, and so forth. If you’re going to make edits, it would generally be to any of the copy below that header section. You should not need to revise the terms unless there’s a special circumstance. They have been vetted by an entertainment lawyer and are already airtight for standard use cases.

When you’re done editing the licenses, hit save changes and publish your product to set it live on your website.
